Beside that though, this week was kind of strange. It felt weirdly slow, but we still saw the second highest number of people I have since being out here. I got a little food poisoning action halfway through, so that probably had some to do with why it felt weird, but really the highlight was the Apostle coming to the mission and getting to hear him speak. Plus, us and the other missionaries serving in Newark got to direct traffic to where the parking for the event was. That was pretty funny, we had a few non-members follow our directions to where the parking was and they were severely confused.
One of the funniest things this week though was this tiny little wedding this part member family had so that the husband could get baptized. He's in the area of a different pair of missionaries, but they always drive us to church because they're the closest ones with a car and so we went to the wedding to help out and because we know the wife. So, evidently Juan, the husband, was joking around the entire two weeks leading up to the wedding, then, during the ceremony when our Bishop was performing the services, after he said a few words, said, "Alright, we'll get on with the ceremony and get you two married." And at that point, Juan made a gun with his hand and pretended to shoot himself in the Head! Too Good! It was hilarious! Twas a hodge-podge little spanish wedding, but they both said yes and now they're working towards making their family eternal. That's what it's all about.
Well, that's about it! I hope you all had an excellent week and are enjoying the turn of the weather, I sure am! Stay sweet.
Love, Elder Jordan
